Stop Building Disease: Invest in Your Health Like Retirement

Stop Building Disease: Invest in Your Health Like Retirement

Hello friends,

Welcome back to Make a Difference Month.

In our last conversation, we talked about movement and how many people in their 40s and early 50s are unknowingly building disease.

Today, we move into the next critical area:

Nutrition.

Because you cannot out-exercise a bad diet.

Introducing IRAH

I want to introduce a concept I call:

The IRAH — Individual Retirement Account for Health.

Most people understand saving for financial retirement.

But very few people think about saving for their health retirement.

Here’s the idea:

Every healthy habit is a deposit.Every unhealthy habit is a withdrawal.

Deposits:

  • Eating real food

  • Exercising

  • Managing stress

  • Sleeping well

  • Supporting your body nutritionally

Withdrawals:

  • Processed foods

  • Sedentary lifestyle

  • Chronic stress

  • Poor sleep

The question is simple:

Are you making deposits… or withdrawals?

Eat Real Food

Over the years, I’ve simplified nutrition down to one principle:

Eat real food.Not too much.Mostly plant-based.

This isn’t a fad diet.

It’s how people have eaten for generations — and it’s still how the healthiest populations in the world eat.

In places known as the Blue Zones, people live longer, healthier lives.

Why?

Because they consistently:

  • Eat whole foods

  • Eat more plants

  • Stay active

  • Live with purpose

They’re not chasing trends.

They’re living simply — and effectively.

What About Supplements?

Ideally, we would get everything we need from food.

But let’s be honest — most people don’t eat enough fruits and vegetables.

Years ago, I had a fortuitous introduction to Juice Plus+.

These are capsules made from 30 fruits, vegetables, and berries, and what makes them unique is that the blends carry an FDA Nutrition Facts label, which is very unusual in the supplement world.

While they are technically a supplement, they are designed to support a diet rich in plant foods — not replace it.

That introduction played a role in my journey to becoming Coach Roger, helping others invest in their health.

The CEO Decision

As CEO of your health, you make daily decisions.

Every meal matters.

Every choice matters.

Because every day you are either:

  • Building health

    or

  • Building disease

Looking Ahead

In the next phase of this series, we shift our focus.

For those 55 and beyond, the question changes.

It’s no longer just about preventing disease.

It’s about:

Thriving in your golden years.

Final Thought

I’m almost 81 years old.

My heart attack at 63 taught me a powerful lesson:

Exercise may save your life.

But nutrition and lifestyle determine how well you live it.

Start investing in your IRAH today.

Because the deposits you make now…will determine the life you live later.
