You Feel Fine… But Are You Building Disease?
Hello friends,
As part of Make a Difference Month, I want to challenge you to take stock of your health and take charge of it — because no one else will.
Let me ask you a simple question:
Are you at risk?
If you’re in your 40s or early 50s, chances are you feel fine. Life is busy. You’re working, building, providing, and pushing forward.
But here’s the truth most people don’t realize:
These are the years when the silent health risks begin to build.
We’re talking about:
High blood pressure
Belly fat
Rising blood sugar
Chronic stress
Organizations like the American Heart Association have shown that heart disease develops over decades — often without symptoms.
You don’t feel it… until you do.
The Silent Build
In your 40s and early 50s, your body is changing whether you notice it or not.
You may still feel strong, but internally:
Arteries may be stiffening
Metabolism may be slowing
Muscle mass may be declining
And the biggest danger?
You don’t feel any of it.
That’s why this stage of life is so important.
Become the CEO of Your Health
This is where everything changes.
You have to step in as the CEO of your health.
Because no one else will do it for you.
Not your doctor. Not your insurance company. Not the healthcare system.
This is your life. Your body. Your responsibility.
Movement Is Medicine
The number one prevention against heart disease is exercise.
And exercise doesn’t have to be complicated.
It simply means moving:
Walking
Strength training
Staying active throughout the day
Let me ask you:
What are you doing to move?
Today, many experts say sitting is the new smoking. Our lives revolve around screens — computers, phones, televisions — and movement has been engineered out of our day.
We sit to work.We sit to relax. We sit to travel.
And slowly, it catches up with us.
My Personal Experience
I’m almost 81 years old.
Looking back, I believe something I did decades ago helped save my life.
In my 30s and early 40s, I exercised regularly. I ran. I stayed active.
At 63, I had a heart attack.
And I truly believe that foundation of fitness played a role in my survival.
Exercise helped save my life.
But what I’ve learned since then is just as important:
Lifestyle is what helps you thrive.
Your Make a Difference Challenge
This week’s challenge is simple:
Move every day.
That’s it.
Walk
Lift weights
Take the stairs
Get up every hour
You don’t need perfection.
You need motion.
Final Thought
If you’re in your 40s or early 50s, this is your window.
You may feel fine…But risk could be building.
The good news?
You can change that starting today.
Step in as CEO of your health.
Make a difference.
